Searching for purpose, desiring truth, and desperate for love defines the young adults of modern day America. The majority finds itself standing disillusioned by the broken promises of those closest to them, broken relationships, and the emptiness of money and possessions, but because you have chosen to trust in Jesus, you have been granted a new life founded in His love and motivated by His great plans. For some of you, this decision might have brought out feelings that you may have never experienced before ranging from joy, to uncertainty, and maybe even fear thinking, “What do I do now? What comes next?” On the other hand, you may feel confident in your decision and content with your current life. Regardless of where you stand, I want to assure that this is just the beginning of an exciting pursuit. God has great things ahead, and it is our heart to support, help, and guide you into His amazing plans. Please contact us and tell us about your decision so we can celebrate with you, but in the mean time I would like to share with you 6 crucial steps in becoming the person God has created you to be.
1. Attend New Hope Oahu and Pursuit services regularly:
We are a family committed to supporting, encouraging, and assisting you in this journey, and our weekly services are the perfect opportunity to discover new friendships, while being filled and equipped to glorify God in your daily life.
2. Read the Bible daily and journal:
God’s Word is one way we can discover more about Him. Through His Word He grants us answers to our questions, direction for our life, and a glimpse into His greatness, and His love for you.
3. Join a small group:
Pursuit currently offers 11 life groups and 3 Bible studies on a weekly basis, and these groups provide a place to deepen friendships, a safe place to ask questions, and strong Biblical teaching.
4. Get involved:
You are a vital part of God’s work because God has given you talents and abilities to use for His ministry. We would love to see you involved at Pursuit in an area of interest such as: greeting, music, dance, poetry, sports, assisting in producing our weekly services, set-up and tear down, etc. We desire for Pursuit to provide a venue for you to operate in your abilities.
5. Get water baptized:
Jesus set the example for us when He was baptized, and simply put, it is one way we declare our love for Jesus to the world.
6. Attend classes and further training:
Both Pursuit and New Hope Oahu offer classes to strengthen you in this journey. These classes will empower you with wisdom and insight assisting you in living for Jesus.
